It is the hope of the Foundation that offering scholarships will provide an incentive for young people to consider a health care occupation.

There are many shortages in health care personnel, both on a state and national level. The shortages are in many fields, including nursing, radiology and lab technicians, and pharmacists, to name a few.

Since 1998 the SAHCF has given scholarships to area high school seniors and post-secondary students interested in pursuing health care careers, without stipulations on post-graduation relocation.

2009 Award Recipients

The competition for scholarships was once again keen this year with the following students being awarded a $500 scholarship:  Sarah Vogel, Megan Groebner, and Ashley Roiger from Springfield Public School; Gavin Maurer from Cedar Mountain High School; and Andrea Rohlik from Wabasso High School.

Scholarship Application

Applications for the 2010 scholarships are due May 1, 2010. Download the application in PDF here.
